100% Please note: The reviews below are more than 12 months old. Member Review by JacquieTSubmitted December, 2007 Went there last night for dinner and was very impressed! The last reviewer just about hit the nail on the head, but I'll talk briefly about my experience. I had the ribs (500g), and they were so well basted I probably could have eaten them without my BBQ sauce which I had slathered all over the top of them! Others on the table had chicken salad, and lamb chops. Yes, the prices are a little steep, but well worth it considering the quality of the food. The service was timely and friendly, no complaints at all.
We also somehow fit in dessert after our mains...I had the vanilla ice-cream with chocolate fudge sauce. Simple, but delightful! I intend to become a regular so I can try out all the different meals :) Member Review by pipSubmitted August, 2005 I had heard about Squires Loft from a number of people - and being a BIG steak fan - thought I should give it a try ... the best decision I could have made!
First things first - you need to book else you won't get a table. I went on a Friday night and it was packed and they were turning people away (!) I had tried to book earlier for Saturday, but it was fully booked on the Monday ... the place is that popular!
The menu has a lot of choice in terms of the different cuts of steaks and there are other non-steak options as well, which was great to see.
One thing to be aware of is that you order 'the' steak ... it comes with potatoes (chips or baked potato) then everything else is an extra i.e. vegetables and salad.
The prices are a little on the steep side but you forget it when you taste the beautiful meals. For a table of four (no alchoholic drinks) the bill came to over $50 a head. Which I didn't mind paying as the steaks were cooked to perfection and the quality is just to die for. Your knife just cuts through the steak like it was butter (sorry cliche but it's all TRUE!).
I like mine cooked rare (not blue or medium rare) and it came out just perfect! So I was impressed as so many places just don't have the knack of getting it just so.
The service was friendly and efficient. We had to ask to see the dessert menu when we were offered coffees straight after our mains ... you are offered complementary chocolates which makes you feel special and a nice touch.
Overall - come here and enjoy because the quality and the preparation of the meals are just excellent. If you are only going to have a steak once in your life - come to Squires Loft and prepare to be impressed.
There is another Squires Loft in the city as well - which I have also been to and it was just as packed on a weekday lunch - so it says something about the quality and gastronomic experience!
