I wasn't disappointed, joining an impressive lunch crowd for some tasty and fiery offerings. The 'Thai' tag wasn't strictly true, with Malaysian and Lao influences in the menu offerings, such as providing good freshly prepared roti and being the only restaurant I've found to prepare one of my favourites - sticky rice.
The food here is good value, which meant I didn't really mind the plastic decor, and their consistency is probably why they always have a sizeable crowd in. In true Thai fashion be ready for some heat when you order any dish outside the reliable red or green curry though!
My disappointment came from looking at what could have been. On the menu two of the dishes I had not seen in Melbourne, but had yearned for in earnest, were clearly visible and with excitement I looked forward to ordering the green papaya salad (a Lao specialty) for lunch. That excitement had also meant I had clearly missed the 'cancelled' sticker, and this was the only sour note to an otherwise pleasant food experience.
