Bastille is a cozy and friendly European style caf? that has a clear objective, and achieves what it sets out to do extremely well. The meals are sophisticated without being complicated, letting the quality of the products carry the meal. Also they keep the menu fairly short, with minor variations of specials, making good use of ?in season? foods. This means they do not over stretch themselves and provide a consistently high standard meal. Also they offer some nice wine at a good price, which I appreciate. We found the Mocculta a real bargain.
While they do a lovely breakfast (you?ll find me there most Sunday mornings), being a long narrow brick building makes it a better winter retreat, while no sun is to be had during the summer. Also I would prefer the specials to be changed a little more often.
