For Yum Cha devotees, this is the place to go. The food is great, the service attentive and pleasant and the location and view are terrific.

You can either pay by consumption or a set price. But be warned, on Sundays they seem to offer different (and very yummy) dishes which are often on the higher end price wise, which means it might be worth paying for a set menu. Mid week though we usually pay by consumption.

Even though it is a bit more expensive than other Yum Cha restaurants, it is well worth paying more as the food is always fabulous and unlike many Yum Cha restaurants, the staff are always very nice and helpful. Plus I don't know of any other restaurant for Yum Cha that has such a great location. A must!

There are a number of yum cha restaurants throughout the city, but Red Emperor stands out from the rest. There is a wide variety of dishes, and they are all cooked and presented to perfection.
The service is also excellent when compared with other restaurants, with the staff being friendly and helpful.
This great service does come with a price however, with the dishes being much more expensive here than at their counterpart restaurants. For the overall experience however, Red Emperor is definitely worth a visit.

Red Emperor has established itself as one of Melbourne's best Chinese resturants and is definitely worthy of this title. The food is superb.

The spicy salt and pepper calamari for entree is not to be missed and the cantonese beef is superb. The service is attentive whilst remaining unobtrusive and although your reviewer opted to order from the al-a-carte menu, it was obvious, from the uptake of 'Yum Cha' from the many other diners, that this is also a firm favourite.

Red Emperor is not particularly cheap but for the quality of food and service it is not unreasonable and with an array of banquets on offer is a great option for either couples or group of diners. Definitely worth a visit.
