100% Please note: The reviews below are more than 12 months old. Member Review by AmelieSubmitted August, 2009 I love the food at Bluestone Restaurant. It's proven the test of time for me, with each visit as good, if not better, than the last. The food is extremely well-prepared, exciting, and each dish memorable. I'd heard plenty about the downstairs Lounge/Bar, hadn't been, so took my daughter there the other night - and had a wonderful time. Right off, we loved the space. It’s fun, stylish and different – and the food was amazing, both to her younger palate (she’s 20) and mine, which has been lucky enough to try some of the best food in and around Melbourne. We started with some succulent Turkish lamb kofta and a stunning dish of calamari lightly fried in a chick pea batter. Both has us going ‘Mmmm’, ‘Aaah’, and ‘Oh my God’ – and reaching over to have bits from each other’s plate. It’s seriously good food – flavours, textures, presentation – everything. We finished with a wood-fired pizza. I’d heard they’d won awards for their pizza and I can see why. The Bluestone Margherita was simple, with sweet, flavoursome cherry tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella, and fresh basil. With quality ingredients prepared as well as this, simple is simply divine. Member Review by DennisSubmitted June, 2006 Bluestone has been built in a beautiful stone warehouse. It has two levels; a restaurant on the upper level, with a bar on the lower level. Being located on Flinders Lane near Queen Street, it is very easy to find.
The bar is exceptional is a wide ranging wine list from all over Australia and overseas, as well as a wide range of whiskeys and cocktails. The staff were exceptional with friendly table service for drinks and meals. It was a great place to relax and unwind mid-week after a long day at work.
The bar meals were great value, with a thin crust gourmet pizza around $15 making it a great way to have a snack before heading home.
There will certainly be future visits to this wonderful location. Reviews are opinions of the author and do not represent the views of FoodGod Victoria, Neolux Communications, or its employees, contractors or supporters. If you have any queries, please contact us.
