Zest is in a great location and provides delicious food at prices a little above average for your standard cafe. Maybe this is to cover the cost of the bay views and super-friendly (but not obsequious) service.

Breakfast consisted of my usual cheese and onion omelette, this time though, I had to try some of the mexican baked beans that were on offer. Arriving on a plate with some of the fresh bread baked on site daily, the omelette was almost perfectly round. The baked beans (at $4.50 extra) were on the side. Probably not the best match, but both were very satisfying.

The Coffex coffee was well presented, along with a karafe of room-temperature water for me and my dining partner for that morning. I followed the meal up with a Chocolate milkshake which was pleasingly not too rich. In all a good experience for breakfast, just watch the prices.

Its not often this reviewer will return to an eatery two Sunday's in a row. However, Caf? Zest drew me back without hesitation. A little more expensive than your average caf?, the meal prices are well worth it for Port Melbourne views, the pleasant, friendly and helpful staff, bright and airy surroundings (even when the caf? is filled with people) and the food.

My eye was caught by the coconut and cinnamon porridge, served with a side selection of milk, apple and rubarb, brown sugar and honey. Although a simple meal compared to my companions, it was unfortunately the last to arrive. Luckily it was devine; so worth the wait. As was my caf? latte! My companions tried the famous Zest Green Eggs and Ham, the pancake stack with berry compote, and the more traditional bacon and eggs. No one was disappointed. We did however, leave the Coco Pops to the kids at the next table.

Speaking of children, please note that Caf? Zest prides itself on being family friendly. The reviewer therefore sends out a word of warning for those not so fond of little people ? Be Prepared. But honestly, you're so rapt up in your great food and company, you hardly notice them!
