Opening a little over six months ago, this soy-mozzarella-serving takeaway shop is a refreshing change to the pizza-eating experience. No longer do vegans have to settle for a cheeseless pizza and endure the ridicule. Plush Pizza offers a full range of gourmet pizzas, all with a vegan option. The‘Hothead’consists of mozzarella, vegetarian sausage, tofu, tomato, capsicum, jalepenos and Tabasco and is not for the faint hearted. If you like your food super spicy then this is for you. For a milder option, the ‘Ben Special’ is also very tasty. The traditional thin base is topped with mozzarella, home-made pesto, mushrooms, red onion, fresh tomato with a pinch of chilli and cracked pepper, and garnished with fresh avocado and a splash of balsamic vinegar combining a refreshing and interesting array of ingredients. For the less adventuresome, Plush Pizza offers old favourites such as the margherita and a great garlic pizza, as well as side dishes of pesto and cheese or vegemite and cheese pizzas – both delicious! Vegan feta and parmesan are both available on a ‘Three Cheese Delight’ that is a cheese-lovers dream. The menu even includes a vegan-friendly ‘traditional’ lasagne with TVP mince and soy-béchamel sauce. Prices are more than reasonable: small $8; medium $12; large $16; and gluten-free bases are available for a small extra charge.  Plush Pizza is takeaway only, but they provide a comfy bench with cushions and a TV to watch while you wait and the staff are warm and accommodating. So next time you’re craving pizza take your friends along and indulge in pizza with cheese.
