Member Review by aduki MagazineSubmitted November, 2006 This Korean delight is the perfect setting for a romantic night or dinner with a group of friends. The smart décor, simple table settings and tea lights provide a warm, inviting atmosphere in which to dine. The traditional Korean menu offers a range of vegetarian meals or the option to have a meat dish made vegetarian. Goshen has plenty of variety for vegetarians and vegans and the kitchen assure that all pots and utensils for the vego food are kept separate. The veg dumplings are particularly delicious, with a slightly crispy outside, fresh spring onion taste. The meaty looking filling is actually tempeh. The bean paste stew (which is more of a soup) has a miso base and is filled with shitake mushrooms and tofu. A range of stone hot pots are available, the Kim Chi (vegetarian option of course) is fantastic. It is served in a heavy stone pot, sizzling hot with rice stirred through. It’s mildly spicy and very fragrant. If you don’t bring your own, the wine menu is ample and reasonably priced. Goshen also offers a selection of local and imported beers, including two Korean beers. It’s is a great winter place with cosy surrounds and a hearty, warming menu. The service is quick but it can be difficult to get the staff’s attention when it gets busy – a small price to pay for a really delightful dining experience. Booking is advisable as even mid-week this place is brimming with diners.
