A reliable middle market Chinese in the heart of Chinatown. The San Choy Bow, dim sum and pork entrees are real standouts. I find the 'Famous' Cantonese Roast Duck an excellent dish that's hard to resist. We've also plunged into 'live from the tank' seafood and the mudcrab was absolutely great.

We enjoy most of the standards and some different takes on Chinese for our Aussie tastes, such as the pork hotpot with pickled vegetables. The service is generally good but at times the Kun Ming is just so busy, they can't keep up. The BYO works well and it's a pretty good winelist too, moderately priced with a good range.

What is it about really good fried rice? It sounds odd but we reckon they're about 'as good as it gets' at this humble dish that is rarely in this league.

It's a good idea to book as Kun Ming gets very busy. Well recommended.
