The door is opened for us and we're welcomed in - a good start. It's a Friday night. We're the only 8:00 booking. All the other tables are full. It's a quaint, well presented dining room in the traditional style. The four of us sit down to three excellent courses of French bistro food, well presented and excellent quality.

Who would have expected this shopfront at the end of the East Malvern tram-line to house an excellent small French restaurant? Nothing about the food could be faulted- among us we had entrees of grilled scallops gratin, salmon salad, and goats cheese tart; mains of roast duckling and lamb loin; and we all gravitated to dessert of soufflee - real and freshly prepared to order! Great stuff!

A servicable small wine list features quality local wines at reasonable prices. You can also byo for reasonable corkage.

Real linen tablecloths and napkins, immaculate facilities. I suggest early in the week for a quiet romantic dinner, or go with friends on Friday or Saturday. Be certain to book, this place gets busy.

The service can run a little slow when very busy but it's worth it. With reasonable prices of $12 -15 entree, and about $25 for a main, you can't go wrong. The coffee is brewed, no espresso. You can't have everything!
