100% Please note: The reviews below are more than 12 months old. Member Review by pipSubmitted January, 2006 If you want to dine on a Friday or Saturday - book early! I had friends coming over and wanted to treat them to something a little different and for a Friday night - I needed to book 7 weeks in advance.
The tram cruises the streets of Melbourne and it's fun (even if you live in Melbourne because you don't usually get to sit so high on the road) and a nice way to impress any visitors. The pick up point is opposite Crown Casino.
There are two dinner sessions on the busier nights - so the price can vary, it's not cheap but for five course meal it's relatively inexpensive. The late dinner which leaves at 8.30pm (which is what we had) is a 5 course meal with all your drinks included in the price.
I started with pate on crisp biscuits, followed by kangaroo fillets on a berry pancake. My main was rib eye steak (which came on a bed of mash) then dessert of sticky date pudding! And then there is a cheese platter to share ... all good!
The drinks - well there was a choice of wine, beer, a few spirits and even liquers to finish. And there is orange juice, tea and coffee as well.
As a little bonus - for those who have an entertainment card / book - there is a voucher in it for $30 off the regular price of the late dinner package for two adults.
