100% Please note: The reviews below are more than 12 months old. Member Review by Guy MartinSubmitted October, 2009 Embassy has now become somewhat of a staple for me. I usually find myself heading home on a Monday night and wondering what to have to eat. Before I know it, the car has pulled into Roden Street and sidles up beside one of the several taxis here.
Go past the shiatsu massage chair that has been saving the backs of drivers for years and into the cafe where burgers, steak sandwiches, bacon and eggs, sausages and all sorts of "diner" food can be had for under $10.
One of the things that brings me back again and again is the quality of the burgers, the crisp and not-greasy chips, and the care taken by the cooks in making and presentation. There is no sloppiness in the kitchen, as burgers are built with the same care that a bomb squad technician might use to defuse a bomb.
Embassy Cafe doesn't look like much from the outside, but it is the quality of the food that brings the cabbies, truck drivers, dock workers, builders, and me coming back. I would venture that dollar for dollar, Embassy provides the best burgers and the best hot chips anywhere in Melbourne.
